If you are a fan of martial arts then this a wonderful way to get in shape and stay fit. Martial arts has shown to help people maintain a healthy mind as well. It comes highly recommended.
Begin by learning how to mentally engage yourself in meditation. This is imperative if you are going to do well in martial arts. Learn breathing and relaxation. Here is a good plan to start with if you are doing this on your own. Find a place to get away from everyone. Make it somewhere that is quiet and relaxing. Beauty is important at times, but is not an essential.
Sit in a relaxed position and breathe in and hold that breath for 3 seconds. Exhale as far as you can. Repeat this three times. Clear your mind of everything that comes to it. Try looking at one location in order to fix on your body. You want to forget what is around you. This is stage one.
Stage two of learning martial arts to get in shape is the toning and strengthening. Lay flat on the floor and reach your arms and legs out to a stretch. Repeat the breathing as you do this exercise. Try to locate the muscles that are weak in your body. These are the ones that you need to work on. You can get martial arts books at the local Library. Start eh ones that apply to your muscle tone requirements. Slowly learn that as you strengthen your body.
Stage three of this is skipping rope. This helps you build up physical endurance. Martial arts is all about maintaining strength through a long period of time. When an enemy comes at you be sure that you have enough strength to beat them. Fatigue will not get that done. So really work on physical endurance and strength.
Stage four is balance. Learn how to balance as you get better at the various positions and moves of Martial Arts. You want to see everything around you in perfect clarity. Then know how to react to it ever single time. Failure is not an option in this. Also make sure that you can achieve the strength to overpower your opponent.
Eating while training in the Martial Arts is like any sport. You want lean muscle that is strong. Vary the dietary needs according to the stage that you require. Eat lean meats and carbohydrates. Try some water protein like fish. There are real reasons why sushi is a staple in Japan.
Vary the proteins often to allow your body to adapt in a healthy manner. Trick that metabolism into security of the fuel that is available. You want it to “think” that fuel is plentiful. That way it never panics. Panic will be the equivalent of damage. Your body will eat itself if the fat is low. Don’t fall prey to thinking that it is good. Before your body will eat fat it eats muscle. So keep an eye on your caloric intake. Keep it steady.
Allow me to add a few words about maintenance. When you reach your desired weight and mass remember to drop the caloric intake back to normal. If you work out on a regular basis to maintain your mass you will be find eating the same. If you ever stop working out or find that you are getting fat adjust the caloric intake to meet your own body’s needs. Always listen to your body. Your body will tell you everything that you could want to know about what is and isn’t needed for your optimum health as you bulk up. Adjust weights only as your “balloon” can take it. Don’t pop it.
